Poetry & Songs
Poetry comes from the soul and is nutured by quiet contemplation, not having a television as a child created plenty of time for such things. Clara still loves to sit and pour out her emotions in the form of poetry.
Growing up in the church choir created a natural conduit for converting Clara's poetry into songs as another way to express herself.
The breeze was warm and gentle and caused the leaves on the young Maple tree to shimmer as they reflected the afternoon sunlight. Emma loved to wander through her perfectly groomed garden. She fantasized about liking the process of turning the dark fertile soil into green sprouts of life and colorful blossoms, but in truth she could not tolerate the feeling of dirt or debris underneath her fingernails.
Scooping up Sadie, the neighborhood calico, she settled onto the porch swing for some quality planning for next year’s garden. Of course, her type of gardening required that the actual work would be performed by someone else… who did not mind playing in the dirt.
Emma breathed in deeply enjoying the smell of freshly cut grass. A soft smile crept onto her lips as she realized the tightness and anxiety in her chest was gone. It had been her constant companion since the ordeal… when had it subsided? She could not say for sure, only that it was finally gone and she felt at peace again.
